Working at Schulmeister

What was your application process like at Schulmeister?

My application process can be summed up very well with three words: warm, collaborative, and transparent. I felt right at home from the start.

Why did you decide to take this job?

When I first graduated from university, I came across Schulmeister’s job posting for a team assistant. Since I like to roll up my sleeves, am structured and organized, and enjoy using my organizational skills to help others, the position really caught my eye. Still, I knew I would need opportunities for growth in the medium term, and I openly addressed this during the application process. Once it was clear that these growth opportunities were available for the role, I was very happy to accept the job—I had a good feeling about it, after all.

Starting out as a team assistant was fun for me, because it gave me the chance to get to know the business, the industry, and the internal structures from the ground up. After nine months, I was able to transition into a consulting role, and I’ve been happy in that role for over four years now.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Schulmeister?

My workday starts with reviewing applications and responding to emails. It’s important to me to get back to clients and candidates as quickly as possible, so I do that right at the start of my day. After that, I prepare for interviews and client meetings, write candidate reports, present suitable profiles to clients, and always try to find the perfect match between the company and the candidate. And in between, of course, I make sure to chat with my colleagues—whether it’s about work-related topics or personal conversations during our lunch break.

What’s great about your job?

There are many things. Finding the perfect match for people in the job market. Recognizing potential in candidates or job profiles that isn’t apparent on paper. Constantly meeting new people and gaining insight into their career paths. Personal interaction with people is simply very important to me and enriches my job immensely.

But I also appreciate having delved deeper into the field of finance and accounting, or being able to take on internal projects time and again. The latter makes my job even more varied, as it allows me to engage with other topics—far removed from direct recruiting—and learn a lot of new things in the process.

What challenges does your job present?

It’s not always easy to convince our clients of the changing times in the job market. Of course, I always try to provide a clear picture of the current situation, but it’s definitely one of the challenges of my job.

What makes your team special?

Our team is characterized by a relaxed, open-hearted, and open-minded atmosphere. We support and value each other, and there’s never a shortage of humor.

Why is Schulmeister a good fit for you as an employer?

Schulmeister has nurtured my potential and given me the chance to grow from a team assistant to a consultant in a relatively short time.

Plus: At Schulmeister, we live by a mix of challenging work, performance, and fun. That’s why I feel so at home here.
